Website
Preparation

Basically, the overall work regarding the website can be categorized into four parts: organizing, selecting color patterns, putting context and beautifying, and lastly, peer review.

To begin with, we actually spent a long time organizing the context. We considered certain aspects, for example: what are the subtopics, which kinds of context should we put under the same subtopics, and further, the sequence of the context. There were two versions when we were figuring out the overall structure, subtopics with the habitat of animals, or based on cause and effect and further provide examples. We argued this for a long time since both ideas are suitable. At last, we decided to start coming out with context and go back to make this decision. After finishing up approximately half of the overall context, we decided to put all the examples under one subtopic. We based on the amount of information we got for other aspects, and found out that if we organized it this way, we would be able to put an equal amount of information under each section.

Second, based on the topic, which we focused on environmental issues, we decided to use green as our dominant color. However, it did not go as simple as most people assumed. We tried several different patterns. Some of them just look good when the pattern is shown, but do not fit when it comes to matching background color and contexts; some of them matched, but might not favor most of the audience, since we interviewed several classmates and teachers. At last, we choose the one that most people favor in order to reach as many audiences as we can, make them more willing to read the context we have, and further, spread the information.

In addition, we simply put the context on the website based on the organization that we just mentioned above. Next, we beautified it and made the website look aesthetic. Lastly, we let the three most talented members check all the articles, all the little stuff, including grammar, and diction, and rephrase them to make them suitable.

Embarking on the journey to plan our entire event was a thrilling experience that unfolded through careful steps and creative decisions. We started off the process by sketching out a framework, detailing the number of classes, activities, and the estimated time for each session. Once the blueprint was in place, our team transitioned into the task of dividing responsibilities and assigning each member to curate teaching materials and content for a specific class.

Originally, our plan included an introduction to animal extinction followed by individual case studies. However, we later hope to add an important element to our team, which is stray dogs. This led us to organize a lecture on stray dogs. Because of this, we chose to delete the case study section, streamlining our content for a more focused and engaging learning experience tailored to the children's interests.

Deciding on activities presented another exciting challenge. In order to strike a balance between fun and education, we opted for a diverse selection of hands-on crafts. To add dynamism to the day and ensure the children won’t have to sit in their seats all day, we incorporated outdoor activities, encouraging movement and exploration.

The final stages of procurement and execution were both pretty smooth, bringing about a sense of accomplishment and joy. Witnessing the successful coordination and execution of our planned activities reaffirmed our belief in the power of thoughtful planning and collaborative teamwork. Hosting this event was not just a fulfillment of our initial vision; it was a celebration of the creativity, dedication, and collective effort invested in crafting an enriching experience.

Reflecting on the entire process, we take pride in the smooth execution and positive outcomes of the event. It stands as a testament to the impact that careful planning, teamwork, and engaging educational experiences can have on the children we aim to inspire. Looking forward, we carry the lessons learned from this planning journey into future endeavors, eager to continue creating memorable and educational experiences for young minds.
